English steel tip players do not always do very well against top soft tip players as soft tip players do not against steel tip players. The reason I think is the eye hand coordination is different and once you learn one or the other it throws you off to change. I saw Phil Taylor get whipped pretty good by a Japanese soft tip player but that player could do nothing when he went to England.

You are right! Soft tip is just more fun to play and a little bit easier. Steel tip is just too plane jane and shooting at the triple all day a bore!

All sports are about racking up points? American Dart Cricket has strategy. The damn English changed the dart board in the 30's and added that triple 20 that why we only shoot at the 20 now. They ruined darts!

If you look into the audience you will see the problem with darts in the United States. No one is watching! I one time watched the # 1 player in the world playing an American and only 2 people were sitting in the audience. Go to Japan or England and it is standing room only!

I learned on steel tips. Shot very well with them. I had to buy new darts to join a league. As there are no bristle board leagues in my area. I practice at home on bristle with steel tip conversions. Then I use the soft tips for league and get to enjoy shooting larger trips and doubles. These guys are really good. I doubt most of the comments below could shoot close to MPR .

Obviously you've never played the game of cricket before judging by your comment. If you notice. Carver is walking up to the line right after Yuki steps to remove his darts. Yuki waits til Carver comes back from the board. If you look at the screen it's flashing player change, and the round number. If he was to shoot during this time. The dart would not count. Has to wait for the animation to stop. The fact is, everyone has a different routine when they shoot.

That's because you're not at the top. I just chalked a best of seven with two of the top 10 darts in the United States. Highest game was 500, and that was only one game.

Soft tip is more worried about your quarters than the evolution of darts.

Soft tip boards have bigger beds. Either way, soft tip is the future of darts, it's a waste of time and energy trying to stop it.

I disagree about no real game of cricket should go to 800. Some of my best and most competitive matches have gone that high and I only play steel tip.

What has soft tip to do with a cricket game going to 800s or not. Any pro Dart player of PDC or BDO would asswhipe these dart nubs.

This is why I hate soft tip darts.... No real game of cricket should go to 800's. IMO. That being said, I don't see any of the world's top players actually playing competitive games of cricket. I think it would be way more interesting than watching two guys boat race to 501 every time. You would see different players strategies and emotion would play a part on some level. But what do I know? :)

If both players have nothing but bull left, the one with the lower score has to keep hitting bull eyes which equals to 25 for a single bull-eyes and 50 for a double bull-eyes until the one with the higher score closes out the bull-eyes ( 3 of them )

One thing I don't understand about this game. If both player have only Bull left but one player is on a higher score and has hit the bull first how does the other player win or close the game?

He has played in the PDC and the game is faster, much different waiting on the slow machines and slower paced game.
